VoltAge project - Expression of Interest now open!
Are you:
Aged 18 to 25yo,
or Age 60 and over (aged 55 and over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders)
And involved in formal or informal volunteer activity in the:
Maribyrnong,
or Moonee Ponds Local Council Areas?
What is VoltAge?
Volunteers from different generations pair up to create photographic stories about their community.
VoltAge is a digital storytelling project which will bring together volunteers of differing generations and experience to connect and share their stories, through photos and text. Through the upskilling of local participants we will enable Voltage volunteers to capture their unique stories and stories of their community, to connect, celebrate and champion volunteering during National Volunteer Week.
We will recruit volunteers from different generations (aged 18-25 and 60+) to work together to develop and exhibit digital stories about their experience of volunteering and community in the Maribyrnong and Moonee Valley LGAs. They will be empowered to use their own technology (smartphones or cameras) to take photos and craft text to accompany those photos.
Volunteer West(VW) will provide training in digital photography and then support volunteers to engage with local community to develop their stories. The final exhibition will be presented on the VW website and will launch during National Volunteer Week (17th- 23rd May 2021).
This project is implemented through partnerships with the Maribyrnong City Council (MCC), Moonee Valley City Council (MVCC) and local volunteer-involving organisations (VIOs).
