Maintaining contact 

Even when a volunteer is no longer with your organisation it is still valuable to maintain contact with them as it adds to their overall experience. It will also encourage positive word of mouth and help spread the word about your organisation's volunteer opportunities. 

Develop an alumni pool to help you stay connected to past volunteers. You can use it to: 

  • Organise specific networking events for alumni 

  • Share job opportunities 

  • Provide an avenue for past volunteers to get references 

  • Advertise volunteer roles 

  • Connect them with training sessions 

  • Recruit mentors for buddy programs
